Soft plastics change purpose with their shape and rigging. Worms and creatures work on Texas, Carolina, Neko or wacky rigs; shads and swimbaits can use a jighead, weighted hook or serve as a trailer; craws and creatures add bulk to jigs and bottom rigs. Size must match the hook so the point stays clear and the body is not distorted.

Check density, buoyancy, salt content and tail type when the product information provides them. A bait with strong built-in action suits a continuous retrieve; a subtle one responds better to twitches and pauses. Match colour to light, water clarity and available forage without treating it as a fixed rule. Store incompatible materials separately to prevent deformation or sticking.
