The low stretch typical of this material does not eliminate all give in the set-up: rod, drag, knots and the leader used also play a part. Choose breaking strain according to technique, cover, tackle and diameter, not just the target fish. Tie a compatible knot, check the first few metres after rubbing against obstacles and replace any frayed or damaged section.
