Active Fox Rage reels are compared first by system, spinning or casting. Also compare reel weight, drag power, capacity, gear ratio and line retrieve per turn.

For casting, check handle side, drag and casting adjustments; for spinning, body size and the amount of line the spool holds with the intended line. The right retrieve varies with technique and with the resistance the lure offers; weight alone doesn't determine it. Mount the reel on a rod of the same system and check the balance with the intended line and lure.
