The collection includes Hart spinning and casting reels. The reel type must match the rod; then compare weight, drag, capacity, gear ratio, and centimeters retrieved per turn. The ratio alone isn't enough to know the actual retrieve, because the spool also plays a role.

On casting reels, check the retrieve hand and cast controls. On spinning reels, check size, line guide and capacity for the intended line diameter. The right speed depends on the technique and the resistance of the lure, not on a fixed split between light and power fishing. Set the drag with the line already spooled.
